MODELLING AFTER 50: SIMONE JACOB
A lot of girls dream of becoming models. You dream about walking down that catwalk and wearing the most beautiful designer clothes while the photo cameras are clicking and everyone is looking at you. Or you are in front of an amazing photographer who is about to take pictures of you for Vogue.
For most of us, the dream stays a dream. And especially when we go over year of 20, when they already start saying “you are too old to start now”.
But the things have changed. Changed so much that models are becoming representatives of real people and are giving chances to all of us to become exactly who we want. Our role models are not anymore skinny 18-year old girls that we have once been ourselves, but now there are women out there, just like Simone who are changing the industry and bringing fresh faces to the fashion world.
Yes, there are models even after age of 50 and they are fabulous!
WHO IS SIMONE JACOB?
Simone Jacob was born in 1962 in Memmingen, Allgäu. She studied in Munich and has a Masters degree in Science of Communication, Psychologyand Sociology. She started her modeling career at 17 in Munich but after her studies she then took a break as a model, lived on a farm in Bavaria and devoted herself to her growing family, her horses and her work as a television writer and producer. A few years later, she gave up her television career and focused entirely on her two great passions: sculpture (marble, sandstone) and painting.
At 50, her life took a completely new turn. By chance, she was rediscovered as a model by the Munich agency Munich Models, as Bestager Model. Meanwhile she is represented worldwide by different agencies like New York Models, Elite, Uno etc. She is also on the board of www.models.com the “Who is Who” of the top players in the model business.
